Editing Rates
My rates are based on your needs. Let's face it. Someone with a
clean manuscript who only requires a quick read-through and
some tips on story arc shouldn't pay as much as someone who
needs a full line edit, as well as a structural edit. Therefore, I
allow you three options for determining your unique essentials
and the expected payment, based on those essentials.
PLEASE NOTE. For all three options, the following formatting applies:
1. Times New Roman or similar font (size 12)
2. 1-inch margins on all four sides
3. No less than 1.5 spacing between lines
4. Indented paragraphs at no less than position 3
5. 8.5 x 11 page size
OPTION ONE: In a rush? Know what you want? Without prior review, pay a flat fee of $4.00 per page
OPTION TWO: Send me the first 25 pages of your manuscript for my review at no cost (no edits returned to you), and we'll set up a fee between $2.00 and $5.00 per page, based on your unique needs
OPTION THREE (my most popular option): For a $50.00 initial fee, you can send me the first 25 pages of your manuscript for review (with a comprehensive edit returned to you!). A fee between $2.00 and $5.00 per page is determined, based on your unique needs. The initial $50.00 paid will be deducted from the final cost.
Once an agreement has been made, a contract will be sent to you for your records and for tax purposes. Payments are due before editing begins and can be remitted via PayPal® (a bill will be sent via email) or personal check made out to Excellence in Editing.
